Julia Evans was born in London in 1982. Shortly afterwards her family moved to the South Coast of England where she was raised. Julia’s family business was interior design run by her mother. This was a perfect environment for a budding artist in which to grow up in. Julia studied art and design directly after leaving school at the local Northbrook College. She followed this with a foundation at Camberwell school of art and then went on to acquire a BA hons in Fine Art Painting at Brighton School of Art.
Julia embarked on a career as a painter exhibiting in group shows and selling to private clients in the UK. In 2007 Julia moved to Spain after her parents decided to retire there, with the idea of only staying for six months. However she fell in love with the country and the culture and has never left. After a year of living in Spain Julia opened ArtHouse
ArtHouse started as a working gallery where artists could meet, attend classes and exhibit their work. Soon into this Julia realised that there was a huge market for people who longed to paint yet had never picked up a brush and didn’t know where to start. She started creating courses for complete beginners. Since then ArtHouse has gone from strength to strength and has now been running for nine years. Julia believes that anyone can paint if they have the want and she has proved this theory time and time again.
Julia has decided to expand this idea into art holidays, allowing those that do not live in Spain to experience her revolutionary teaching methods
Since living in Spain Julia’s own work has also developed and she is a successful selling artist. She has exhibited in many group and solo shows in Spain and runs her own online gallery. Her recent collection is based around Rock ‘n ‘ Roll and Movie icons.
